I find it eternally hilarious, and pathetically telling, that one of the largest corporations in the world, with respect to both human and financial resources, continually hosts teleconference webinars during which I cannot hear the speakers at all. Scheduled meetings, proclaimed to be critically important. Scratchy voices, ebbing and flowing like the perpetual cyclic motion of waves; a word here and there, I can comprehend. Naturally, after awhile, my eyes roll slowly to new directions, turn inward. I begin to focus on jewelry to pack for my upcoming trip, poems dancing through my mind before I have the courage to commit them to paper and to be forced to reckon with them as forces and entities, dinner plans, designing permutations of professional looks, books to read.I should wear red lipstick more...
