Outfit for a Tuesday: Mustard and Houndstooth

Last week, I paired my new silk mustard crew neck sweater, previously combined with some tight denim and lucite accessories for a casual look, with a large-scale pattern houndstooth wool pencil skirt. Mustard is a natural complement to black and white; though houndstooth is a classic, this one is a bit bold, being larger, so pairing it with a more neutrally inclined hue keeps the overall look clean and chic. In general, the tight silk sweater and the pencil skirt evinced a very retro attitude, so I am happy that the color palette matched accordingly.

This time, in lieu of sparkling clear lucite, I selected gold accessories: my favorite, my trusted, and my only, brazen golden elephant pendant, with the alluring and mesmerizing rhinestone eyes, coupled with some newer, but still vintage, gold and cream earrings.
