Nautical Winter Wool
Greeted by unseasonably warm weather upon my return from London, I decided to take advantage of the pleasant breeze, the clear skies, the last opportunity to avoid tights, thick socks, long johns under jeans. After my grueling flight home across the ocean, my efforts to stay awake relied heavily on some consignment shopping at one of my favorite local stores, fueled by a single cup of coffee alone. Bustling with two aging eastern European beauties, trying on bombastically structured cream gala gowns from the 1980s, I found an armful of great pieces, including this navy blue wool blazer.
The blazer is surprisingly thick, which should make for a versatile piece, especially in the late autumn and early spring months. Patriotic bald eagles cast in faux golden metallic clasp the breast closed, accent the sleeves.
My bangs have an aggravating propensity to split down the center, sparring sides that actually should represent a single unified cause.
A safe and sound return home, the filmmaker and I enjoyed dinner at a casual and delicious local Italian restaurant. We had the place practically to ourselves and could savor a long, well prepared meal.
