Iconography: Edith Head

My niece is taking her time arriving, being quite meticulous and precise about her entrance following labor; my lovely sister is tired but staying strong, with the support of our mother and her caring husband. Despite the delay, she will be born a Scorpio, like incredible and decorated, aesthetically and professionally, old Hollywood costume designer Edith Head. Perhaps the slow and steady nature of my niece's birth will manifest to an acute attention to detail and impeccable sense of design and structural elements, as those in genius Madame Head. All About Eve, one of the many films for which she won an Oscar for her costume work, is one of my favorite films, and features the epitome of bygone glamor and sophistication.
