Pearls and Rhinestones

Last week, I had a debut of this camel wool sweater featuring strands of pearl detailing; in terms of textures, I love the interplay of soft, warm wool fabric with the solid translucence of the pearl beading. The sweater has a not completely inappropriate snug fit, which reminds me of young teenage girls from the 1950s, in their wide a-line skirts with prominent poodles paired with the painted on cheerleader cardigans. After a childhood of wearing sweaters, tops, and pants that were generally two or three sizes too large, at the behest of my mother, who was vehemently insistent that I would grow into them, even after I was fifteen and had ceased all major hormonal development spurts, buying something that truly fits my frame to perfection is a joy.
