Surreal Cerebral Wanderings

I find it eternally hilarious, and pathetically telling, that one of the largest corporations in the world, with respect to both human and financial resources, continually hosts teleconference webinars during which I cannot hear the speakers at all. Scheduled meetings, proclaimed to be critically important. Scratchy voices, ebbing and flowing like the perpetual cyclic motion of waves; a word here and there, I can comprehend. Naturally, after awhile, my eyes roll slowly to new directions, turn inward. I begin to focus on jewelry to pack for my upcoming trip, poems dancing through my mind before I have the courage to commit them to paper and to be forced to reckon with them as forces and entities, dinner plans, designing permutations of professional looks, books to read.

I should wear red lipstick more...
